ABOUT THE CENTRE
Established in May 2022, our Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre is one among the 99 recognized Peripheral Centres across India, functioning under the National Pharmacovigilance Programme for ASU&H, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.
OUR KEY FUNCTIONS
- Monitoring,documenting & reporting Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) related to AYUSH medicines.
- Identifying and reporting misleading advertisements of AYUSH products.
- Conducting awareness, sensitization, and training programs for students, practitioners & the public

OMYA 2023 – National Level Hybrid Seminar

- National-level seminar focused on strengthening awareness of pharmacovigilance in AYUSH systems.
- Covered core concepts of ADR reporting, drug safety monitoring, and regulatory responsibilities.
- Enabled large-scale participation with approximately 800 beneficiaries (online & offline).

AYUSH SURAKSHA 2025 – AWARENESS WEBINAR

- Demonstrated the process of ADR reporting through digital portals.

COMMUNITY & INSTITUTIONAL OUTREACH INITIATIVES
To strengthen public understanding of drug safety, the PPvC team regularly conducts awareness sessions across multiple platforms:
Educational Institutions:
- Awareness sessions in degree colleges, Ayurveda institutions.
- Focus on creating awareness among students about ADR identification and reporting.
Village-Level Outreach:
- Door-to-door awareness drives and group sessions conducted in nearby villages.
- Educated the community on safe use of Ayurvedic medicines and the importance of reporting adverse effects.
Taluk Office Programme:
- Special awareness program conducted at the Taluk Office to educate officers, staff, and public visiting the office.
- Highlighted public responsibilities in pharmacovigilance and easy ways to report ADRs.
Awareness in Hospital for the Common Public
- Regular awareness talks organized within the hospital premises for patients and attendants.
- Ensured direct engagement with the public for improved safety literacy in healthcare settings
