To be a centre of excellence in Ayurvedic ophthalmology and ENT education, clinical practice, and research, preserving the classical wisdom of Shalakya Tantra while integrating modern diagnostic advancements for effective healthcare delivery.
About the department
The Department of Shalakya Tantra deals with the Ayurvedic management of diseases affecting the eye, ear, nose, throat, and head (Urdhvajatrugata Rogas). It is one of the eight classical branches of Ayurveda and is primarily based on the teachings of Acharya Sushruta, who described various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for disorders of the sensory organs.
The department provides comprehensive academic training along with practical clinical exposure in the diagnosis and management of ophthalmic and ENT disorders through classical Ayurvedic therapies.
