About the department
The Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana offers comprehensive academic and practical training in Ayurvedic pharmaceutics, with emphasis on classical Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana principles along with contemporary pharmaceutical and analytical sciences. The department caters to undergraduate teaching in the BAMS programme and offers a postgraduate MD(Ayurveda) programme.
Rasashastra encompasses the systematic purification, processing, and therapeutic application of metals, minerals, and herbo mineral preparations. Bhaishajya Kalpana deals with formulation techniques, dosage forms, preservation, standardization, and rational use of herbal and compound medicines.
