Awareness:

To conduct orientation sessions, campaigns, and legal awareness programs on a regular basis.

Support:

To provide a safe, approachable mechanism for students to report grievances confidentially.

Action:

To respond swiftly, sensitively, and firmly to any reported incident.

Monitoring:

To ensure round-the-clock vigilance in hostels, classrooms, and common areas through the Anti-Ragging Squad.

  • Legal Awareness Session Conducted to educate students on IPC provisions, legal consequences, and ethical responsibilities related to ragging.

Programme Highlights

  • An awareness programme on “Legal Framework Against Ragging” was conducted for UG students, Interns, and PG scholars to sensitise them about the legal and ethical consequences of ragging and to promote a safe campus environment.
  • The resource person explained key legal provisions under the Indian Penal Code, including sections related to physical and mental harassment, intimidation, and criminal liability.
  • Students were informed about the academic and legal consequences of ragging, such as suspension, expulsion, cancellation of admission, and criminal prosecution.
  • The roles and responsibilities of students, along with the functions of the Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad, were clearly outlined, emphasising the duty to report incidents.
  • Real-life case examples were shared to highlight how even minor acts of ragging can lead to serious legal repercussions, reinforcing zero tolerance towards ragging.
  • Active student interaction and queries enhanced awareness regarding complaint procedures, victim protection, and institutional support mechanisms.
